Keremane Shivarama Hegde Rangamandira - the Auditorium

Mandali dedicated an auditorium to Late Shivarama Hegde. This was built by Keremane Shambhu Hegde with the financial assistance of generous donours to the Mandali in 2004.

 

Keremane Shambhu Hegde Amphitheatre

 Mandali dedicated an open-air theater to late Shri Keremane Shambhu Hegde in the premises of the Mandali . This was built by Keremane Shivananda Hegde in 2009. The construction of green room and roof etc is supported by Dr. B. Jayashri, MP Rajya Sabha to complete this project and the work is under progress.

 

Shrimaya Yakshagana Ranga Shikshana Kendra

was started by Shambhu Hegde for the students of Yakshagana. The Kendra is celebrating its silver jubilee year with four hundred alumni. Some of them are veteran professional artists and teachers.

 

Shilpa Shibira And The Museum

With the co-operation of Shilpa Academy Bangalore. Our organization is conducting a workshop to prepare the statues of cement of different Yakshagana characters to create an environment of Yakshagana in the location of our institution. There are about 14 statues in different poses and characters both two different Yakshagana styles of Badagu and Tenku Styles.

In the future, our organization is going to continue the workshop every year to develop a Yakshagana museum.

There are also plans about building a well-established museum to preserve manuscripts, ancient articles pertaining to the origin and development of the art form. And also exhibiting various costume, make-ups, drawings about Yakshagana and notable awards that were given to the people in the field.

Aatave Paata

In the contemporary situation, globalization has created a new turn in Indian culture. The future generation needs inspiration from heritage. So our troupe took a project Aatave Paata (performing and educating in schools) which gained very good response from the children, teachers, and parents.

 

Bhasam Project

Bhasam is the project started by our institution in the year 2010. Every month two workshops about the Yakshagana singing will be conducted to study and research the tradition. In this project, 20 professional young Bhagavatas and four resource persons are participating to explore the unique style of Yakshagana oral tradition.

 

Keremane Shambhu Hegde Rashtreeya Natyostava

Keremane Shambhu Hegde was an artiste who gave a new dimension to the traditional dance by synchronizing the elements of Indian choreography. In his memory, our organization is conducting a national festival of traditional dance, drama, theatre, music, folk and tribal performances.

All these cultural events are organized by Idagunji Mela every year in Gunavanthe,

a beautiful village of Honnavara located in two acres of land (Which is called 'Yakshaangana') near NH. 17(now NH.66)

 

Our Mandali has got the cultural background of the sincere effort of restoring the aesthetics

of the heritage of Yakshagana for which we seek financial help by art lovers.
