With the co-operation of Shilpa Academy Bangalore. Our organization is conducting a workshop to prepare the statues of cement of different Yakshagana characters to create an environment of Yakshagana in the location of our institution. There are about 14 statues in different poses and characters both two different Yakshagana styles of Badagu and Tenku Styles.
In the future, our organization is going to continue the workshop every year to develop a Yakshagana museum.
There are also plans about building a well-established museum to preserve manuscripts, ancient articles pertaining to the origin and development of the art form. And also exhibiting various costume, make-ups, drawings about Yakshagana and notable awards that were given to the people in the field.
In the contemporary situation, globalization has created a new turn in Indian culture. The future generation needs inspiration from heritage. So our troupe took a project Aatave Paata (performing and educating in schools) which gained very good response from the children, teachers, and parents.
Bhasam is the project started by our institution in the year 2010. Every month two workshops about the Yakshagana singing will be conducted to study and research the tradition. In this project, 20 professional young Bhagavatas and four resource persons are participating to explore the unique style of Yakshagana oral tradition.
Keremane Shambhu Hegde Rashtreeya Natyostava
Keremane Shambhu Hegde was an artiste who gave a new dimension to the traditional dance by synchronizing the elements of Indian choreography. In his memory, our organization is conducting a national festival of traditional dance, drama, theatre, music, folk and tribal performances.
All these cultural events are organized by Idagunji Mela every year in Gunavanthe,
a beautiful village of Honnavara located in two acres of land (Which is called 'Yakshaangana') near NH. 17(now NH.66)
Our Mandali has got the cultural background of the sincere effort of restoring the aesthetics
